All day long one of the emotions you count on most to succeed is confidence. Learn to grow more of it?
The bottom line is that more confidence = more sales and less confidence = fewer sales.
Here is a simple tip to help you grow more self-confidence (teach this to your kids)
Meet Dr. Aaron Beck.
in the 1960’s he discovered that:
Thoughts cause feelings. Reflect on what that means.
Confidence is a feeling. Therefore what you think largely determines how you feel.
Its look in the mirror time…
If you do not feel confident, inspired, optimistic, fired up, like a total winner then you have to examine what you are choosing to think about.
Your thoughts are causing your feelings right now! Who decides what you think? Hello.
As a sales pro/sales manager you have a choice. You can choose to think:
A)
– Sales is so hard
– I can’t do this
– I hate cold calling
– There is so much competition
– Our prices are so high
– I can’t… handle more rejection, another loss…
B)
– I love being in sales
– Making 30 calls per day easy
– Customers love talking to me
– I can do this
– I’m a pipeline building machine
– I am responsible
– I am earning _____ this year
One line of thinking crashes your confidence and the other pumps you up.
You always decide and control what you choose to think. You are responsible.
If you are not feeling as confident and inspired as you’d like, then give your head a shake. Maybe it will jar loose some positive thoughts. Latch on to those positive thoughts; dwell on them day after day after day. Soon, you’ll feel more confident. Thoughts cause feelings.
In summary do this: Think to yourself throughout the day.
- I can do it
- I am a winner
- I earn ____ and add 30% to whatever number you hoped to earn before reading this article.
Rock and roll sales pros!
